The Process

Assess, Train, Graduate Ready To Work

Our process is simple… assess, train, graduate skilled and ready to start your job search and get hired. To serve everyone’s customized needs, we start with Comprehensive Skills assessment.

At this assessment we get to know you, your goals, your strengths and where training will help you to become job ready according to your plan for employment. As we conduct our assessment, tests are used to benchmark what you already know. From this data, we can first outline a training plan and a class schedule that will meet your employment goals.

Then, we use this plan with benchmarks to track and report on your measurable skill progress throughout your time in training.

Once you meet your learning objectives per the plan developed during assessment, you will graduate and be directed to job search and career!

At our online Academy we weave in state of the art technology, assistive technology with business communication skills, reading comprehension, business writing skills to ensure our graduates are ready for the world of work.

Our Three Step Process...

Step One: Assessment

Finding a good match for your training provider is a critical step towards your success. At Sierra we ensure that the match is researched and planned out during the assessment phase.

Our Admissions process begins with a Comprehensive Assessment. We look at each adult’s career goal as it compares with their current skills. A customized, individual training plan is written up that indicates how our online computer and business skills training program can prepare you for the workforce! Need for accommodations and assistive technology is factored into all of our work.

During the Assessment, a Sierra staff member will get to know each person through a variety of methods including in-depth conversation, history, and via results of our testing tools that benchmark knowledge, skills and abilities. This information forms the basis of the custom training plan that is submitted after the assessment is complete. Individual’s and their vocational rehabilitation counselors review the plan, update individual employment plans, and the Academy staff notifies the student of when they can begin classes.

Step Two: Training

Within your assessment report is an outline for a training program that will let you gain skills you need to be qualified to work in the office clerical setting of your choice.

Our online training classroom is staffed by instructors who are committed to helping each learner master the Microsoft Office 365 suite including Outlook for professional email, organization and calendar appointment management, Word for document creation, editing, and use of office templates; PowerPoint for presenting information to groups in a sleek, technology enabled manner, and Excel spreadsheets to track information, including Excel for auto-calculation and entry level bookkeeping roles.

Combining professional business communication skills and online meeting protocols akin with the demands of today’s hybrid office settings, our graduates are ready to succeed at work.

Step Three: Graduate Ready to Work

After training is completed Sierra Group Academy graduates are ready to find jobs in office-based careers, according to their job goals as identified with their VRC and during their assessments.
